The global workforce is undergoing a profound demographic shift. Participation among workers aged 65 and older is rising sharply, according to the World Economic Forum. Yet less than 4% of global organizations have structured programs in place to accommodate and retain this older workforce.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of The 60 and More Crowd Podcast! Here , the focus is on Work After 60: A Global Conversation.  This is an independent project, produced and hosted by Sue Plant, based in Canada.

In this episode we are taking a look at the growing participation trend of people staying longer in the workplace. How are organizations/employers adapting to this trend? Workforce longevity is one of the fastest growing sectors of the labour force and this trend is re-shaping how modern workplaces look and function.  Its a structural shift in the global workplace.

Today, we are taking a look at the four pillars of the modern global workforce to retain and accommodate this valuable workforce.

  • Flexibility
  • Continuous  learning and skill development
  • Multi-generational workforce
